Episode 007 - Potluck Roundtable

August 15th, 2009,  monsterb kicks the show off with some listener feedback.  Then he mentions Slack Mini Server a Linux server distro designed to be configured and maintained through a web interface like Webmin.  It sports a 2.6.29.6 kernel and is based on Slackware 13 RC2.  You can run it from a LiveCD or install it to USB or a harddrive.


Lord Drachenblut (Lord_D) of Ten Buck Review sits at the roundtable this week and talks about Kim Cascone switching from Mac OS X to Ubuntu.


Klaatu (Deputy) gives us an update on Ohio LinuxFest 2009.  There will be BOFs, Talks, and Meet-ups on Friday September 25th.  So early penguins can enjoy an action pack day for free between 1300 and 2100.  You can find more info at http://www.ohiolinux.org/schedule.html.

Xoke talks about ItsHidden.com a free surfing privacy service on the Internet with huge capacity and no complicated software to install, you already have everything you need on your computer right now!  So they say.  This service needs more
investagating.


Sheriff J Peter64 talks about Ear Candy a sound level manager that nicely fades applications in and out based on their profile and window focus.  This sparked up a conversation about PulseAudio and Phonon.  Kajarii called in to complain and answer some questions.
